We are seeking to learn from parents and caregivers about the practical realities of helping children stay connected to learning during periods of illness and recovery. If you are the parent or caregiver of a school-aged child with complex or chronic illness, we encourage you to join our research study to share your experience navigating various resources in your local school system, health services, and community to support your child's learning, with particular attention to networks and educational technologies.
You are eligible for this study if you:
- are a parent or caregiver of a school-aged child or adolescent
- have a child who has been diagnosed with a chronic or complex illness
- live in a rural and/or remote community
- have experience managing your child's access to education while living with illness
- are able to participate in a virtual focus group or individual interview
You will be invited to participate in a virtual individual interview or focus group with members of the research team. Participation is voluntary. You will be asked to share your experiences of supporting your child's ongoing access to education while they live with a chronic or complex illness. There are no right or wrong answers – we are interested in your family's own experiences and perspectives.
Please fill in the form below to be contacted by the Principal Investigator, Dr. Martha Cleveland-Innes of Athabasca University. All information you provide will be held in the strictest confidence.
